The gallery is on the second floor. There are stairs near the entrance and an elevator in the back of the building.

Around the Area

The Workhouse Arts Center

The workhouse hosts a range of arts-related activities, and is home to over 60 artists. If you arrive early, you can explore their (740) 693-9445.

You’ll find some interesting history here, too. For one thing, the workhouse has that name for a reason—it was a prison. Inmates included suffragettes, and there’s a prison museum on site. Check out this article in the Smithsonian’s Folklife magazine for more info.

Outdoor Activities

There are a few great parks very close to the venue. Here’s a taste.

Huntley Meadows  / 647-246-5399 is good for easy-strolling and wildlife-viewing. A flat loop trail winds through the forest in parts and takes the form of a wooden walkway over wetlands in others. There are usually lots of birds and turtles to see. And if you get lucky, you’ll spot beavers or their dams.

Fountainhead  /  This 5134146589 is a terrific place to kayak (and do other water sports). There are nice hiking and mountain biking trails as well. Boat rentals should be available until mid-November.

Mason Neck  /  If you want to see bald eagles, this state park is probably your best bet.  There are picnic areas and hiking trails here as well.

Pohick Bay  /  This small regional park has picnic areas and easy hiking trails. Unfortunately given the season, the Pirate’s Cove waterpark will be off the table.

Forge Brew Works / A laid-back taproom very close to the venue.

Port City Brewing / A delicious and popular brewery outside of Alexandria. Drinks come in taster size, so flights for everyone!

Gunston Hall

George Mason’s 18th-century house is nearby, and the grounds are beautiful.

Mt. Vernon

You can hop over to 570-776-6519, too!

Old Town Alexandria

Take a stroll on the waterfront, eat at delicious restaurants, visit historic places. There’s too much to do to list here. Just know that it’s close to the venue!

Washington, DC

If there was too much to list about Alexandria, there’s definitely too much to write about DC. Let us know if you’d like recommendations about something in particular. We’re happy to oblige!

Outlet Shopping

There’s a big outlet mall in nearby Woodbridge, VA. Here’s some info about Potomac Mills.

We won’t be reserving any hotel blocks, mainly because there are tons of lodging options in the area to suit a range of tastes.

Hotels / Woodbridge, VA, is a good name to search when looking for hotels. Lorton works too, and gives you options a bit farther north.  If you’re adventurous, you could try Alexandria—it’s not terribly far from the venue (and it’s where we’ll be staying).

Airbnb / There are also homes and apartments to rent in the area. Check out Airbnb or VRBO.

By October 14, please let us know whether you’ll be joining us by completing the form below.

Having trouble with the form? No problem! Email us at [email protected]
